It is critical to first know the situation before learning how to catch a cheating spouse. Truth be told, it can be difficult to catch a cheater - most people have a strong inclination to trust their partners, the very trust their partner’s exploit. Knowing the truth can be excruciating, which is why some people will overlook if their partner is cheating since they do not want to think about.

Since everyone’s situation is unique, it is difficult to come up with a checklist of behaviors that would determine if your spouse is cheating. With that said, here is some things to take notice of

Has your spouse been consistently away from home by working late and on weekends, going out with friends, or been obligated to attending more company meetings/gathering? What about 4 hour dog walks or the 3 hour grocery runs to the store? Money that is unaccounted for but has been spent could be another sign of cheating. It could also be a sign if you don’t know how your money is spent and your partner does not allow you see the bills.

Cheating partners might have change in attitude. To give an example, your spouse may feel apathetic towards everything, including you and your children. Issues, like money, become a larger deal than before. Your spouse may seem bored with life and seeking something exciting and dangerous. Also, your spouse may not feel like going out and doing anything anymore.

If your spouse is cheating, they may have created another email account or bought another cell phone and may be possessive over them, like deleting the call log or locking their phone. Your partner might be using their computer a lot more than they normally would, especially after you head off to sleep. If your spouse has began deleting emails that are incoming, although he/she may have let them accumulate before, this could be a sign of infidelity.

If there is infidelity in your relationship, there are some things that may change. Its normal for a cheating partner to act out towards you out of guilt. The cheating spouse might think that it is your fault, which makes the infidelity right in their minds and the reason why are abusive or cold towards you. Another sign is how much sex you and your spouse may change. If your sex life with your partner is lacking, but hasn’t in the past, this might be a sign. Also, a cheating spouse may want more sex with you to avoid raising doubts. Your partner may want to know your schedule and where you are at all times to order to fit his/her affair accordingly.

Unless you have evidence, do not confront or accuse your partner of cheating if you suspect it. Talking to your spouse about infidelity will not be helpful for the both of you; your spouse may not admit to it unless there is hard evidence suggesting an affair. Signs of infidelity should be examined within context of a situation, meaning don’t just take one sign and automatically think your partner is cheating. Learn to trust your gut feeling! if you don’t feel right about something, how you feel is probably right. Trust your feelings.
